This module reframed pharmacovigilance around a genuinely different orientation than every module before it: proactive planning rather than reactive response. The RMP’s six-part structure — Product Overview, Safety Specification, Pharmacovigilance Plan, PAES, Risk Minimisation Measures, and the Public Summary — builds in a deliberate sequence, from establishing what a product’s risks actually are, through what the organisation commits to doing about them, to how that commitment gets communicated to the people who need to understand it, patients included.

The safety concern lifecycle and effectiveness evaluation content in the middle of this module closed the same kind of loop Module 7 demonstrated for signal management: an RMP isn’t a document filed once and forgotten, it’s continuously updated as evidence accumulates, measures get evaluated, and the product moves through the continuous lifecycle Module 3 introduced. The REMS comparison placed the EU’s specific approach in a broader global context, and the Public Summary lesson closed the module by returning to something every earlier, more technical module implicitly serves: a patient’s actual understanding of the medicine they’re taking.
